Things to do in Golden Colorado

Located just a few minutes west of Denver.  With everything from nature to learning how beer is made. Golden is a place with something for everyone.  Plan your day trip here with my list of cool things to do in Golden Colorado.

Visit Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave

The Buffalo Bill Museum showcases the life and work of William Frederick “Buffalo Bill” Cody. He was best known for his Wild West show that traveled all over America and Europe. But few remember him for being an advocate for equal pay and rights. Read more about it here.

Admire the views from Lookout Mountain

Right next to the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave is the Lookout mountain overlook. At 7377 feet, it provides great views of the rocky mountains and downtown Denver.

See rare trains at the Colorado Railroad Museum

The Colorado Railroad Museum is home to over 100 locomotives, passenger cars, and cabooses dating as far back as the 1800s. Featuring fifteen acres of trains and related items such as a 1881 Rio Grande 346, a rotary, a roundhouse, miniature models, and more! Read my post about it here.

Take a walk around Mother Cabrini Shrine

The Mother Cabrini Shrine is a beautiful pilgrimage site. You can follow the 373 steps that she took to lead her to this location. It’s a beautiful nature walk. The shrine is free for everyone to visit. Read all the details here.

Explore the beautiful Boettcher Mansion

The gorgeous Boettcher Mansion was built in 1917 for one of Colorado’s wealthiest families as a summer home and hunting lodge. I wouldn’t mind living here. It’s so peaceful and the views are amazing. It’s free to visit, get all the details here!

Learn all about beer at the Coors Brewery Tour

Learn how beer is malted, brewed and package. See memorabilia, old photos, signs, historical beer cans and bottles. As well as sample beer and since everything is better with a souvenir, take home a commemorative glass.
