There’s nothing like arriving at your destination and knowing exactly where every piece of clothing or accessory is located. Especially after it’s been shaken around by airport security and a turbulent flight. If you use packing cubes, it’s possible to keep all your luggage organized. Not only do they allow you to compress materials to maximize storage space but they will also prevent that embarrassing moment when a pair of underwear sticks out during a security check. Since they are extremely lightweight, they will only add a few ounces of extra weight. However, they are worth their weight in gold when you have everything organized neatly in your suitcase. Some even come with a laundry bag so that you can separate your clean and dirty clothes. Also, they come in a variety of color options to suit every taste.
Even though most are designed with a carry-on in mind, they can just as easily be used in a checked bag. Just make sure that you buy a second set to make this work. And if you travel with a duffel or gym bag, these will do miracles for you by keeping all your clothes neatly organized. Once you arrive at your destination, they have a little handle so that you can carry them from your suitcase to the dresser. And they also fit perfectly in the drawers to keep that all organized as well. Best of all, they will have a mesh side allowing you to see what is inside. So that you can easily locate each piece of clothing.
My favorite packing cubes
I own two sets of packing cubes and my favorite is the Vallilan Packing Cubes Set. The reason why I love this one so much is that unlike other sets that only come with four packing cubes, this one has six cubes in all. Not only that, but it also has a mesh side that allows you to see inside the cube. Over-all, I have used them for over four years now and they are still like new. I really like that they have a section where you can write what you packed in the cube. Best of all, since you get six cubes, these are a much better value for your money than other sets on the market.
Travel Secret
Beware of plastic packing cubes!
- Even though they will protect against spills, they won’t let your clothes breathe! So you may end up with stinky clothing upon arrival.
