November Death And mourning Traditions
- During November, to celebrate the passing of Madam Marie Grima who died in 1850 on October 15th, the museum focuses on old mourning traditions. Not only do they have a casket inside the museum but they also explain the rituals and traditions used in that era.
- For example, widows could only wear black without silk or taffeta. Most of all, the fabric could not reflect light. For women, the mourning period lasted eighteen months and for men, it was six months.
