Come spend a magical evening surrounded by colorful traditional Chinese lanterns in the Garden Of Lights at the Montreal Botanical Garden. Inspired by Chinese traditions all of the lanterns were created by artisans from the Shanghai region. As such, each lantern is handcrafted and painted.
The theme is said to change every year. There are three exhibits in the Garden Of Lights at the Montreal botanical garden. Even though the exhibits start at 6:00 pm. I recommend going a little later because it will be darker outside and the lanterns will look brighter. There will be more kids in the earlier crowds. So going a little later will also be more peaceful and/or romantic.
Chinese Garden:
Traditional Chinese lanterns on a lake tell a fisherman’s tale. Created by artisans from the Shanghai region, each lantern is handcrafted and painted. This is amazing to see. for a truly magical effect, most of the lanterns are placed on the lake and created colorful reflections in the water. Being that they are so beautifully colored, they are absolutely amazing to see!
Japanese Garden:
Walk the meditative, illuminated path. It is a great way to cleanse the soul from stress as you meditate in a Japanese atmosphere.
First Nations Garden:
Showcases the First Nations that were here before us and their connection to nature. There is a multimedia experience that lets visitors feel the beating heart of the cycle of life. You will truly be able to feel nature as you walk through this part of the exhibit.
